A bunch of hype was made before America.com was to be auctioned off here in May, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet up to it’s sellers wishes and was taken off the auction block. The sellers wishes for MUCH MORE than the highest bid of $1.71 million dollars. They thought it could surpass the numbers for the top 5 most expensive domains (sex.com $12.5 mill, Games.com [almost $11m], Porn.com [$9.5m], Beer.com [$7m] and Vodka.com [$3m]).

The people who bought Cognac.com got a steal at $88,000 vs. the $7 million and $3 million paid for two other alcohol names mentioned above.
